Evolution Comics was founded in 2007 by writer/creator Nicholas Ahlhelm as a companion to the super-powered fiction site Metahuman Press. While MHP has been updating weekly since its debut in 2004, Evolution Comics went through a much rockier path before it finally debuted its first series, as it waited nearly two years before the first regular series debuted at the beginning of 2009.

Tales of the Living Legends kicked off Evolution Comics with its debut chapter on January 31, 2009. The series featured re-scripted adventures of Golden Age comic classics from a variety of characters that also star in the Metahuman Press series, Living Legends. The series would be Evolution’s only title for a number of months before being joined by Ahlhelm and Rainford-Nash’s long-in-the-works series Arc. More titles are in the works for the site, with planned debuts in 2010.

The writers and artists of Evolution Comics are devoted to bringing innovation to super-powered storytelling, a genre rarely seen on the World Wide Web. With new pages every week, we will continue to be a new voice in graphic fiction for some time to come!
